We are deeply saddened beyond words as we inform all our relatives, friends, and fans of the passing of James L. (Jimmy) Beaumont on October 7, 2017. The sorrow we feel at this time cannot adequately be expressed, but your thoughts and prayers are now needed for his entire family and all those who were near and dear to his heart. This truly includes his fans and avid supporters throughout the 58 plus years he sang and entertained so many with a singing voice so unique, powerful, and melodic that it remains unmatched today by few, if any. Jimmy wrote songs. Songs that told stories. Stories that made us think about both happy and sad times. One way or another, Jimmy Beaumont touched the world with music. How he touched our lives is his living legacy. Jimmy became part of us and this was his personal satisfaction. His contributions to the pop music industry are immeasurable and will live in our memories each and every time we hear those classic opening chords from any of the Skyliners' hits. Being part of your lives was a normal part of his. Help us to celebrate what he loved best whenever you remember where you were and what you were doing as you sang to "Since I Don't Have You" or danced to "This I Swear". His affect on musical style is truly remarkable. Please take a moment to say a quiet thank you the next time you hear one of our tunes and know that it would bring a famous Jimmy smile to the spirit of the man behind the music. Thank you for your loyalty as fans throughout the years of Skyliners' music. We would have been so very little without your love.

Sincerely,
The Skyliners

I was always the loudest screamer at Skyliners concerts. My heart is broken over the loss of Jimmy, but now he can harmonize in heaven with Janet and another of my all-time favorites, Johnny Maestro. Rest in peace, Jimmy. Thank you for your so beautiful voice.

My heart is broken... I met Jimmy in person at restaurant across from Radio City New York thru my friends Bob & Ruth... a wish come true! I have been searching for the song "Everlasting Love" they performed at a show in Rhode Island (1987/88) it was fabulous. The Jive Five performed that same night. Do you know where I can get a copy of that song by the Skyliners?

Hello Arlene...I share your grief...I had never heard of "Everlasting Love"....my 'a cappella' vocal Trio (TIME WAS) covers a few of Jimmy's better known tunes and I'm intrigued about looking into that one....I met Jimmy in the mid nineties at Foxwoods Resort Casino and we shared some time at a poker table that night after his show....got to pick each others brain for a few hours..... priceless.....'HB'

I had the pleasure of meeting Jimmy when he & the Skyliners came to Punxsutawney, Pa. I have always loved his music since my teeney bopper days. He was such a real gentleman with a beautiful personality and silky voice. I have signed pictures taken with Jimmy and Nick everywhere. My heart is broken......Rest In Peace Jimmy--Will miss you always................

During summer vacation I introduced my
8 year old boy to The Skyliners on YouTube. We love listening to all types of music including oldies music and we are sad to hear of Jimmy’s passing. Hopefully my little boy will continue to share great oldies music with future generations.

I clearly recall how he and the group helped a lonely kid deal with a not so happy youth. I still sing along after circling the Sun 69 times. I can only hope he will look down and smile. I will be harder to sing along now. Thanks

I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Jimmy back in October. I was just 6 months old when "Since I Don't Have You" was released. My earliest memories of the Oldies Doo Wop music was listening to this classic Skyliners hit, including the "This I Swear". The compositions and artistry embedded in these songs were remarkable during the heyday and pinnacle of the Doo Wop era. And to think the members were no more than 18 years of age is simply incredulous. I am so thankful we have YouTube to see the visual documentation of this legend of Rock n Roll history.
Jimmy, I feel as though it just won't be the same... since we don't have you.
Rest in Peace Jimmy Beaumont.

How sad. Rest in Peace Mr. Beaumont! Your songs are treasures to so many. I am sad that I missed this news until now. I wish smiles amid the tears for those loved ones you left behind. 'Since We Don't Have You', we still have your voice, videos, and images to hold dear.
Sincerely, Jim

While I was born in 61, I had the opportunity to see the Skyliners in 74 and became absolutely hooked on the group, "golden oldies" and Doo Wop.
American Graffiti had come out about that time, and Jimmys golden voice was on the air again.
While in high school in the late 70s, the summer evening hangout was a long strip overlooking Lake Ontario. There would be hundreds of cars side by side. At 10pm our local oldies show started with Since I Don't Have You. It could be heard for miles as all tuned in, on those hot summer nights with car windows down. Fond memories I have to this day.
While I know things change, and music too, love, romance, and chivalry will never go out of style.
That's what its really about, and Jimmy and the Skyliners had it, a true class act.
Rest in peace Jimmy. I want to thank you and the Skyliners for not only wonderful music, but wonderful memories.
Bob G.

I am a child of the 50's. Born in '42, I graduated in '59. The Skyliners were one of my favorites, and "Since I Don't have You" and "This I Swear" have become my two favorites of all time. I have a collection of over 3,000 songs from the '40's, 50's and 60's. Over time, my favorite album has become "The Skyliners Greatest Hits". their treatment of those tunes takes me back to very special times in my life. I play it once or twice a week. It seemed that they were able to create songs that matched perfectly to the phase of my life at the time. Lost girlfriends, new loves...they knew what I was feeling then. God bless them for being there. I look forward one day to seeing them all together again and singing the songs I loved.

What can I say that will add to what's already been said? Like all of you, I have loved the Skyliners since 1960 and they have been one of my favorites since. Jimmy autographed a record for me about 10 years ago, a treasured framed momento. RIP, Jimmy and say hi to Janet, Wally, Joe, and Jack for me up there in heaven.

The Skyliners were my favorite group--of course I could be prejudiced-- I was born in Pittsburgh, Pa.! But they really were one of the BEST!!

I grew up in a Pittsburgh suburb, and was in high school when "Since I Don't Have You" came out. It was my favorite song for many years. I moved to California after graduation in 1960. In 1961 I bought a 1954 Ford Skyliner, and customized it. In 1990, I had to have another one, which I customized, and have shown it since. I had a fantasy/dream of having my Skyliner on stage as a backdrop for one of their shows. In 2003 I made a video of the Route 66 Reunion in Seligman, Arizona, which opens with my friend's customized 1954 Ford Skyliner. Unfortunately my Skyliner is not in the video. One of the songs I used as background music in the video is "One Night". My friend in Arizona still owns his Skyliner, and I still have my second one.
R.I.P Jimmy Beaumont. Your music will be part of my life to the end.
